People think Capcom
is in bad shape right now, and it's easy to see why. They haven't been
releasing nearly as much new products as before.
One factor is
that they could just be getting situated into the two new buildings they
made for development. It could be affecting development as a whole, making
things a little slower than usual.
Either way, though,
it all comes down to the old saying about how "you gotta give some
to git some." This is absolutely true for not just Capcom, but any
company. If a company does not produce product to sell, the consumer has
nothing to buy. If the consumer has nothing to buy, then the company cannot
thrive. This is very simple economics. They need to get rid of whoever
they have in marketing. Right, Fucking. Now. (Before
it's too late.)
Sure, any marketing
asshole can say not to make new shit because the economy is bad. Anyone
can do that. A senior citizen with their savings stored in a sock could
do that. However, that's not the way to make a company any money. HD remasters
aren't the one solution to their woes, either. "HD remasters"
of titles that already didn't do well in the last gen isn't a good idea.
Trying to break even on them is a waste; the negative sentiment following
this approach is warranted.
