So, then, Capcom can't make a new game in a series if
a single voice actor decides not to voice a single character? That's absolutely
ridiculous, and should never be used as a reason to can a project. In
fact, the angry mob (be it Twitter, YouTube, or any social media) should
never, ever be considered as an influential factor in making any choice,
about anything, ever. Not just video games, but anything. Why? Just think
about it for a second. Why the fuck should anyone anywhere let random
nobodies on the Internet make decisions for them? Who are they to make
your decisions for you? Who is anyone else to tell others what (or what
not) to like? Are you not your own person? Is your self-esteem and self-worth
so low that you allow others to tell you what to like and/or dislike?
These wannabe celebrities were nobodies before YouTube, and will be gone
as quickly as they came when the YouTube trend is over. So, then, why
the fuck are we still listening to them?
Capcom was definitely listening to them when they made
DR4's cast, which directly contributed to the developer hitting a record
low for character design in the XBO/PS4/WU/NS era. For every cool character
DR4 has, it has 2 or 3 that aren't very good. Character design in DR4
is hamstrung by SJW bullshit, and it's obvious when you see the stark
contrast between the game's military-themed bosses and the "good
guys". The "bad guys" look cooler than most of the "good
guys" in this game. Out of the "good" guys", only
Frank, Vick Chu, and a few others look decent, with the others looking
surprisingly-bad and stereotypical of confused individuals that reflect
the troubled era in which the game was developed in. Even if you can look
past Jessa's blue-haired BS, the developers felt they had to shoehorn
tattoos into her design, and some of them look really dumb. Right in the
middle of her chest is one of the dumbest-looking tattoos I've ever seen.
Who approved this stupid shit? I don't like brewery guy Connor that much,
but at least his design somewhat reflects the era with a minimal amount
of shame. British chick would be cool, but instead they gave her no hair
and made her look like overrated rapper Eminem. They look so bland. Were
there no better designs than these? Despite mainstream media claims, these
characters are marred by voice-overs and dialogue far worse than Frank
West.
The female characters in DR4 have quite a different voice-over
and dialogue approach than past Capcom titles, but probably the worst.
Most of them sound masculine and their dialogue is obnoxious. Jessa's
dialogue, in particular, sounds really ignorant to the point of actually
being shameful. Coincidentally, the end boss has some stupid, campy dialogue
in a place no more fitting than an actual campfire. Brad, Frank, and MicroDude
(Connor) have some good lines, though, and so do the journalist couple.
Isaac's dialogue is borderline insulting, though, as the developers chose
the easy way out with pandering by making him the stereotypical "black
dude" whose stereotypical musings of debauchery are joined by obligatory
rhyming. Apparently, that's "what black people do", and if you
disagree, "then you ain't black". The first Dead Rising game
was made before everything became "woke", yet its black character
is far-less supportive of stereotypes than Dead Rising 4's. That black
character was a police officer whose design wasn't dragged-down by the
Liberal stereotypes of black people only being uneducated athletes and
rappers. At least one black character in DR4 is an engineer instead of
a rhyming lunatic, but they were sure to make her as unattractive as possible
because, you know, all black women apparently have short hair and sound
like dudes. Oh, and they just had to make her eye get gauged-out during
the story, too. Ridiculous. Why couldn't that character be a fashionable
black woman dressed in professional women's attire? Why couldn't her hair
be longer, even if by means of wigs? The confused cast of anti-heroes
in DR4 present a far more concerning situation than zombies.
