And if you don't install the update, the game will pester you until you do. OS windows will come up 2-3 times, and then in-game at the start screen. It's to the point now that even if I'm not even playing Street Fighter V, that bullshit notification comes up, telling me it couldn't install/update for the twentieth time. Incredibly annoying, unnecessary bullshit, but it's my fault. Why? Again, if you don't want to update, then fuck-off! You'll download it or we'll try to force you to until you've had enough and buckle under the pressure! That's the line of thinking here that Capcom seems to come across with, and it was probably solidified by marketing dicks who see nothing but dollar signs. Obviously, they're not very good at making dollars, though, or they'd be releasing games people really asked for (like a new DarkStalkers). I like Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition, but to be honest, who asked for it? Meanwhile, the begging of many for a new DarkStalkers game falls on deaf ears. Not a re-release, not an HD this or that, and not a "collection" - a new DarkStalkers game. You know, when a company actually has the balls to think of something new and make it into a reality by releasing a product based on new concepts? We may remember, but Capcom sure doesn't. I guess that's what happens when you're taken over by small-thinking, insignificant finger-wavers who don't know anything about the history of the company that made the mistake of hiring them. Speaking of disapproval, make sure to keep your disk space full at all times if you want the constant update reminders in SFVAE to end. Completely filling your hard drive up with other games is a surefire way to stop those bullshit notifications dead in their tracks. There's nothing wrong with giving them the middle-finger and playing the version you want for as long as you want. What ever happened to ownership rights? I bought SFV and SFVAE with my own money, and I can play it in any way that I want. |

Another huge disappointment I had with SFVAE was the complete and utter lack of attention given to Trophies. Now, we've come to expect new Trophies or Achievements when we purchase a new game. SFVAE doesn't even have new Trophies. In fact, not only does it use your Trophies from SFV, new ones were never even added! This is the absolute height of laziness at Capcom. Sad thing is, it's been accepted as yet another sacrifice on the altar of "Quality of Life". If there was any "Quality" in the game's "Life", wouldn't it be important-enough to add new Trophies for added features and/or characters? Every time I see that SFVAE uses my Trophies from SFV, it makes me hang my head in shame for a company that didn't used-to do shit like this. Seriously, how hard is it to make NEW Trophies for a NEW game? It's not. But don't say anything, because it you do, worthless Capcom-Unity mods will shout you down with shills to back them up. |

Have an observation about Capcom's practices since this generation started? Shut the fuck up! The Capcom-Unity boards used-to be for everyone, but the new marketing crowded-out any room that was left for free-thought. You will accept out-of-touch practices of Capcom's new marketing, or you can get the fuck out! Capcom's new marketing doesn't care about how much you or other fans have supported them over the years with the pre-orders and full MSRP purchases that have put them on the map. In fact, the only opinions that matter are the very small and vocal minority on social media. In other words, the Twitter mob. Changing "suggestive" animation, "Quality of Life", sneaky balance changes every other month, eSports...you better agree with all of this shit and like it! Don't even think of going against the social media mob the video game scene has established as gospel. |
