I mean, we've got these powerful machines, yet programming
an attract sequence is too difficult? How hard can it be? Losers with
no creativity and/or design skills are using the Unreal Engine 4 (SFV's
engine) to make knockoff Zelda and Mario games that nearly pass for official
product. Independent game makers of only a few people are actually making
their own titles, too. If these people can accomplish these small feats
with the engine, then why can't Capcom's talented programmers do something
as simple as an attract sequence and a high-score table? These are basic
things that shouldn't be that hard to do. Why has everything Capcom used-to
do become so difficult to do? Oh, that's right, their marketing team has
forced them to erase their past so that nobody knows how much better things
used-to be. And if you do remember how much better things used-to be,
and you actually say it out loud, Capcom-Unity mods and "fan"
shills will shout you down until you forget about the past! How dare you
acknowledge the rich, successful past of innovation and character that
brought Capcom to where they are now! Hollow, struggling "eSports"
is all that matters now, so shut your mouth and obey!
Also, eSports has ruined Capcom's productivity. They have
all but admitted that the reason they haven't made a new DarkStalkers
(or any other new fighting game, for that matter) is because they don't
want it to interfere with Street Fighter V eSports. What an absolutely
insufferable reason to ignore decades of rich IPs and talent (yes, they
still have some, despite their excuses). What type of miserable people
would think-up such bullshit? The same people who have little confidence
in eSports, and for good reason. Despite the cash grab and brainwashing,
eSports is not a sport. No wonder why they don't have confidence in it.
The other reason is probably because, again, Capcom's current marketing
heads have convinced the once-strong and proud Japanese company into believing
that it needs to erase its rich, productive past to deliver a lower-effort
future with lesser productivity and higher profit. Wish Capcom would continue
to support franchises they once supported annually? Too bad! You'll play
only SFV, and if you don't like it, you can get the hell out! The Socialist
overlords in marketing have deemed Capcom's history nonessential, so if
you want new content from other Capcom franchises, you'll get it, but
only in Street Fighter V Arcade Edition. Want a new Star Gladiator? Want
a new Viewtiful Joe? Want a new WarZard? Want a new Haunting Ground? Want
a new Cyberbots? Want a new Final Fight?
